Get to Know Us

The Cambridge School of Wine was established in 2006 by Ian Smith who graduated with a master’s degree in wine studies from the Royal Agricultural University in 2005. Previously, Ian had been working in the food and drinks industries as a research scientist and then subsequently in education. Initially the Cambridge School of Wine was offering wine tasting and appreciation classes then in 2008 the Cambridge School of Wine began running academic wine courses in collaboration with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

The Cambridge School of Wine currently offers wine tasting and appreciation classes to the public in the Cambridge region and beyond.

The Cambridge School of Wine also offers academic wine courses in collaboration with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

These WSET level 1 and Level 2 courses in wine studies lead to academic qualifications and are ideally suited for someone working in any wine related business or someone who wishes to extend their knowledge of wine beyond wine tasting events.  WSET academic courses form an excellent foundation for future work or study in this fascinating subject. Please enquire for the next available dates which are subject to demand.

If you have a business in the hospitality trade and would like a course for staff on your premises this can be arranged at your convenience.
